New Acura Nsx Review and Concept


The Honda NSX, or Acura NSX, is a sports car that was produced between 1990 and 2005 by the Japanese automaker Honda. It is equipped with a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, powered by an all-aluminium V6 gasoline (petrol) engine featuring Honda’s Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system.


When the Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept made its debut at Detroit in 2007, it became evident that a new Acura NSX would not be available in 2008.  Now, a Honda official has confirmed to Ward's Auto that the next generation Acura NSX will debut in 2010.

“We are developing it without any delay, so most probably we will have it in the period we already promised,” American Honda President and CEO Tetsuo Iwamura told a Ward's Auto reporter.

Previously, Honda CEO Takeo Fukui had said the car would come out between 2008 and 2009.  In a 2005 speech, Fukui had said Honda would like to introduce a V-10 sports car "in three to four years."  When the Advanced Sports Car Concept was shown off in Detroit, Fukui said a production version would be introduced at the October Tokyo Motor Show.

Despite the pressure placed on Honda by Nissan, which had planned - and succeded - in introducing their GT-R at Tokyo, Honda was unable to complete their production model.  Rumors have since surfaced that an unenthusiastic responce to the concept sent the model back to the engineers for a reworking.  The concept was designed by Acura's Los Angeles-based design team.

The end result is likely that the introduction of the Acura brand to Japan will be delayed, which could mean Americans might get the first shot at the NSX.  If Honda retains similar specs as the Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept, then you can expect the new Acura NSX to be a supercar with a front-mounted V-10, and a highly-tuned rear-wheel drive version of Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system.
 

Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept bears all the necessary design elements of a proper sports car: sharp, aggressive edges, a low and wide silhouette, a slightly phallic side profile, and of course, a rear window that stands somewhere between hardly usable and nonexistent.
New Acura NSX  powered by V10 engine , that will surely upset NSX lovers who brag of that car’s mid-engine layout. A new version of Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) will favor the rear wheels to keep enthusiasts happy, but the front wheels go into action when the first inevitable four-wheel power slide happens. The ASCC rides on a 108.8-inch wheelbase with an overall length of 181.5 inches, and was designed by Acura’s L.A.-based American design team. We must say, they’ve done a much better job here than with the sedan concept shown at the 2006 Los Angeles show. No word on when Acura’s next sports car will go into production, but it won’t been soon enough.

Catene Da Neve - Cosa sono le catene da neve


Arriva la stagione fredda, portandosi appresso il maltempo e le probabili nevicate, anche in città. Sono stati comunicati gli elenchi delle strade (e dei periodi) in cui si può circolare solo con le catene a bordo, o con le gomme invernali… ecco le liste, divise per regioni, dal sito della Polizia di Stato: Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardia, Piemonte, Toscana, Trentino, Umbria, Valle d’Aosta, Veneto
La prima scelta da compiere è se dotarsi di catene da neve, oppure acquistare un treno di gomme specifico; nel primo caso, vi consigliamo prodotti efficaci (più punti di contatto ci sono con il suolo, ovvero più è fitta la maglia, più la ruota fa presa) ma che siate poi in grado di montare.

Vi ricordiamo inoltre che gli pneumatici M+S (Mud & Snow) non sono equiparati alle catene, quindi montarli non vi esenta dalla contravvenzione.

Oltre al rispetto degli obblighi di legge, l’inverno porta condizioni ambientali peggiori, a volte estreme.
Sempre validi quindi i consigli su come comportarsi alla guida in inverno e su come preparare la propria vettura:
- con la neve, raddoppiare la distanza di sicurezza
- ridurre la velocità, mantenendola costante, frenando in modo progressivo (senza colpi)
- in caso di acquaplanning rilasciare l’accelleratore fino a riprendere il controllo
- nelle curve in discesa scalare una marcia, non frenare col pedale
- non viaggare troppo vicino al bordo della strada (minor aderenza)
- fare delle prove di montaggio delle catene nel vostro garage… e in viaggio vestirsi in modo adatto a passare 15/20 minuti nella neve.
- aumentare la pressione degli pneumatici (col freddo la gomma si contrae), secondo tabella costruttore
- rabboccare il liquido raffreddante con un antigelo
- utilizzare il giusto olio motore
- controllate che i morsetti della batteria non siano ossidati)
- verificare l’aderenza dei tergicristalli
- non diluire il liquido lavavetro con acqua
- verificare l’integrità del parabrezza (una piccola crepa, ghiacciando può romperlo), poi tenetelo coperto a vettura ferma.





Tutti noi conosciamo la magia dei paesaggi invernali innevati; ognuno da bambino è rimasto almeno una volta fisso a guardare la neve cadere dolcemente e posarsi a terra. Tutta la poesia di questo fenomeno naturale può essere però annullata dai problemi che la neve può causare se non prendiamo le giuste precauzioni e se non ci attrezziamo in modo adeguato, soprattutto in auto. Ecco quindi il perchè delle catene da neve!
Come per le persone sulla neve la prima cosa da fare è indossare scarpe adeguate, per evitare di scivolare e farsi male, così per la nostra vettura bisogna scegliere le catene giuste in grado di consentirle di viaggiare sul fondo stradale innevato in sicurezza. Tra l’altro, in alcuni tratti di strada le catene sono obbligatorie per legge con determinate condizioni atmosferiche!

Quando nevica ma non si può rimanere a casa a godersi lo scenario, il modo migliore per viaggiare in tutta sicurezza è scegliere una delle seguenti soluzioni: pneumatici da neve o catene. Gli pneumatici sono certamente più comodi delle catene perché si montano una volta per tutte, non occorre smontarle appena superati i tratti innevati o ghiacciati e non arrecano alcun fastidio; le catene invece richiedono un po’ più di impegno per essere montate e, soprattutto se ci si deve fermare all’improvviso per strada, può rivelarsi anche pericoloso; sono però l’unica soluzione in mancanza degli pneumatici termici.

La legge non mostra preferenze tra pneumatici da neve e catene, questo vuol dire che se notiamo il simbolo stradale che indica l’obbligo delle catene a bordo ma abbiamo gli pneumatici da neve montati non stiamo trasgredendo la legge e se ci dovessero multare potremmo far ricorso. Nel caso in cui ci si trovi sprovvisti sia delle une che degli altri allora saremmo costretti a pagare una multa di 68,25 euro e ci vedremo sequestrare l’auto, se succede una seconda volta ci decurteranno anche 3 punti dalla patente. In ogni caso bisogna fare attenzione perché non tutte le catene sono uguali e dobbiamo cercare quelle omologate per il nostro Paese, cioè le CUNANC 178-01 o le O-Norm, altrimenti saremo multati ugualmente, ma questa volta non potremmo far ricorso.

Per questo motivo è importante che le catene siano conservate nella loro confezione originaria in modo che si possa facilmente dimostrare che sono effettivamente regolari. Se prevediamo un viaggio all’estero è opportuno informarsi in anticipo sull’omologazione del Paese di destinazione. Una ulteriore verifica da effettuare è sul libretto di circolazione per vedere se le nostre gomme possono montare catene. A volte infatti il poco spazio tra battistrada e braccio delle sospensioni impedisce il montaggio delle catene perché rovinerebbero le gomme.
Esistono diversi tipi di catene con prezzi diversi che variano dai 36 ai 169 euro. Ci sono quelle a rombo, efficaci e sicure, a scaletta, economiche ma meno sicure e con sezione tonda o quadrata. L’uso delle catene si rivela necessario solo se sulla strada ci sono 4/5 centimetri di neve o ghiaccio. Per montarle è necessario accostare in luogo sicuro, indossare il giubbotto catarifrangente e sistemare il triangolo alla giusta distanza.

North American-spec, LHD chassis are not an uncommon sight in Japan due to the country's lax importation regulations in comparison to the U.S. In other words: The two chassis are not of North American origin, and Spoon will not be converting RHD NSX chassis to LHD specifications. It won't need to.

the NSX's engine, you ask? Well, should you, really? We guess you're a bigger masochist than we thought. This ScienceofSpeed Acura still holds onto the factory 3.0L V-6 powerplant with a sleeved and bored block, increasing the engine to 3.3L, with custom forged pistons. The intake valves, driven by custom stage 2 camshafts, were also enlarged. And if you look closely at the engine picture, you'll see an individual throttle body system. Now that's as uncommon as us finally getting an NSX and kissing a girl. "By our calculations, the engine and induction package should be good for about 320-340 wheel horsepower, which is about 100 hp above factory output



2002 Acura NSX Engine

 To find more useable low-rev grunt for the street would require the addition of forced induction, which often comes at the cost of reliability and civility. Piercey went with the smog-legal and reliable non-intercooled Comptech supercharger kit, driven to 6psi of boost. The Version Two unit uses a positive displacement Autorotor compressor, which (according to Comptech) is 10 percent more adiabatically efficient, easier to package and offers better maintenance access compared to the original Whipple 1600A compressor, which was phased out for sourcing reasons. This gave some much-needed low-end push for the street, where high engine speeds aren't easily maintained.

2004 ACURA NSX Engine

The system is available in Stage I trim (60mm turbo, rated to 600 rwhp), Stage II (67mm turbo, rated to 700 rwhp) and Stage III (76mm turbo, rated to 850 rwhp).  All turbos may be ordered with ball bearing option.  The Stage I and II systems can be installed on stock engines, but boost levels should be limited to about 10-11 psi or 500-550 rwhp maximum; the Stage II and Stage III systems will require internal engine modifications to utilize the full power potential of this turbo.  Other options available are a wide-band tuning module (for street tuning), in-car boost controller, gauge packages, injector and fuel system upgrades.
